KENSLEY Maloney hit a hat-trick as Binfield roared back to winning form with a 6-0 hammering of Highmoor Ibis at Hill Farm Lane on Saturday.

It was a massive change around for the Moles who the previous week had crashed 5-0 at Kidlington.

Highmoor were not as strong as Kidlington, particularly on a day when they were missing both of their main centre-backs, Calam Gallimore and Danny Lingwood, but then Binfield were also missing a few players, including striker Liam Ferdinand and utility player Danny Horscroft.

His absence offered a rare opportunity to young Maloney, who is dual registered with Southern League Premier Division side Slough Town.

The former John Madejski Academy scholar looked a class act, playing with maturity that belied his young age.

Binfield largely dominated the game although the visitors were first to threaten with Sanchez Commack seeing his deflected shot fly past the post, but it took the Moles just 12 minutes to take the lead.

Jemel Johnson, down the left flank, set up the chance for Maloney to fire low into the far corner.

It became 2-0 on 20 minutes when Josh Howell took advantage of hesitancy in the Highmoor defence.

Johnson had another effort parried by keeper Mike Cadle, while at the other end James Knight saw his shot deflected for a corner.

At times Highmoor were playing the ball around well, although their short passing game gave time for the Moles to block their path to goal.

What the visitors badly needed was to get a goal back. Mo Davies was denied by keeper Nathan Silver and Commack was not far away from getting one early in the second half.

But the game was over as a contest when Maloney hit a tremendous shot from 35 yards into the top corner to make it 3-0 after 49 minutes.

Richardson made a double substitution, and for a short time they did threaten the home goal with Mo Davies being denied by keeper Nathan Silver and Sanchez getting in a shot that midfielder Knight deflected for a corner.

Highmoor were now realising that it wasn't going to be their day and they became bogged down by constant pressure from the home side.

More poor defending allowed Johnson to make it 4-0 on 74 minutes and a rare

fumble by Cadle allowed substitute Mark Jordan to score his first goal for the club just four minutes

after coming off the bench.

Man-of-the-match Maloney completed his hat-trick in the closing stages to seal Binfield's biggest win of the season so far.

Moles manager Roger Herridge said: "It was great to keep a clean sheet because we haven't kept enough of those this season."
