Binfield's disappointing home form continued on Saturday when they lost 2-0 to Thame United.

The Moles, who were held to a 2-2 draw by lowly Bracknell the previous Monday, have managed to take only 12 points out of a possible 27 at Hill Farm Lane, compared to four wins from five away fixtures.

One of those victories came at Thame early in the season, but Binfield never really looked capable of completing the double after falling behind with just two minutes gone.

From the second of two early corners, Binfield were unable to clear their lines and a cross found the unmarked Nick Dugmore, who headed into an empty net.

The Moles, who gave young midfielder Jack Gibbs his first start following two impressive appearances as a substitute, tried to get back into the game, but struggled to find a way through the Thame defence.

Their best chance to equalise came when Brad Brown seized onto a poor clearance by keeper Lee Farrow, but his effort was blocked by a United defender.

Five minutes later, in the 25th, Thame doubled their lead with a goal similar to their first.

Silver punched the ball clear from Ellis Hercules, but the ball was immediately returned to the Binfield box, from where David Lynn headed home without being challenged.

It took a brilliant save from Silver to prevent Callum Evans adding a third for the Oxfordshire side before half-time.

Roger Herridge's men improved in the second half, but were still unable to create many scoring opportunities with their best efforts coming from Josh Howell.
