However, this season he will be given a helping hand from development team manager Lee Simpson, who makes the step up to first-team coach.

Youth team manager Paul Howe will take dual control of the youth team and development team for the upcoming season.

The Robins are yet to announce any new signings but Pennicott-Bowen is working hard behind the scenes as he aims to get his squad ready for the upcoming campaign.

Binfield FC also began preparations for the start of the Hellenic Premier Division campaign after holding their first training session on Thursday night.

Over 40 players attended and manager Roger Herridge (pictured right) tweeted: “Pre Season 1 done. Great attitude and lots of new faces.” Meanwhile, Binfield youth team are holding an open trial on Saturday at Cantley Park, starting at 12pm.

With pre-season only just starting to get underway, Dan Bateman and Jeff Lamb are starting to assess their options for Wokingham & Emmbrook and Ascot United respectively.

This will be Wokingham’s first season back in the Premier Division and Bateman has spoken through the summer about the need to bolster his squad after seeing his side struggling for numbers at various points last season.

Ascot United will be looking to add the final piece of the jigsaw to their squad as they prepare for another assault on the league title.

The Yellamen will remember last season for their run in the FA Vase but Lamb will be hoping that they can replicate that form in the league this year – but they’ll once again face stiff competition after last season’s winners turned down promotion.

Flackwell Heath couldn’t justify the expense of extra travelling in the league above and will remain in the Premier Division.
