The Boars’ bright start paid off when Ethan Sears put his side ahead after within a few minutes. Eversley were soon stretching their opponents but some excellent defending and goalkeeping by Southcote kept the Boars at bay and the score remained unchanged for the half.

Southcote began the second half strongly and produced some really good end-to-end football. Eversley had a few early attempts on goal but once again Southcote defended well. Driving forward from the back Ben Kemp doubled Eversley’s lead with a great strike that was intended to be a cross, but midway through the half Southcote halved the deficit with a quick break down the left hand side.

A last minute free-kick nearly put the game into extra time but Eversley held on until the final whistle. Man-of-the-match was awarded to Paolo Giamattei.

Arun Parson, Tom Stowe and Alfie Maynard were all on the scoresheet as Berks County Leopards battled to an excellent 3-2 victory against a competitive South Reading FC side in their East Berks Football Alliance U12 Division Three clash.
