The Robins were 1-0 down at half-time but Shane Cooper-Clarke’s first goal since Saturday, March 7 brought Keith Pennicott-Bowen’s side level.

Jake White grabbed the winner in the 64th minute, before receiving his marching orders in added time.

Bracknell moved up to eighth in the Hellenic Premier table and the victory almost guarantees them a place in the top 10 come the end of the season.

In a tight contest, it was the hosts that started the brighter and deservedly took a 42nd minute lead to ensure they were ahead at the break.

The goal had been coming and Bracknell were looking at a fourth game without victory - but they were much improved in the second half.

Cooper-Clarke took his tally for the season to 30 when he fired home from 25 yards in the 50th minute to bring Bracknell level.

The turnaround was complete in the 64th minute when White tapped home from Khalid Sennusi’s inviting cross to put the Robins ahead.

Despite coming under pressure, Bracknell were rarely troubled towards the end by a toothless Thatcham, but Pennicott-Bowen’s men were reduced to 10 men in the last minute of added time.

The ball had rolled through to the keeper but White jumped in recklessly and the referee had no option but to issue the matchwinner a red card.

It didn’t cost Bracknell though, and the final whistle was blown moments later to ensure all three points would be heading back to Larges Lane.

It was the perfect response from the Robins after falling to a 3-0 home defeat to high-flying Flackwell Heath on Saturday.

But their bid to make it 10 fell short last weekend in an even encounter with Thatcham.

The Moles took the lead on the hour mark when Lamin Sankoh converted Ian Davies’ cross.

However, a late penalty was awarded for handball and Yashwa Romeo kept his cool to send the ball past Dan Weait and earn Thatcham a draw.

The Moles were due to play Cheltenham Saracens last night (Wednesday) and then travel to Flackwell Heath in the Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup on Saturday (3pm).

Meanwhile, Ascot United kept up their charge for third place in the Hellenic Premier Division with a routine 2-0 victory at Holyport.

Joe Bennett and Ian Brooks netted to give the Yellamen victory. They will look to continue their good form when they host Abingdon United at the Racecourse on Saturday (3pm).

Wokingham & Emmbrook were knocked out of the Bluefin Supplementary Cup on penalties by Easington Sports and are not in action this weekend.
