The Boars - who were top of the table at the start of play - elected to bat against their relegation-haunted opponents but were never able to get going.

Jeff Sheldon (6-40) proved the chief destroyer as Eversley were dismissed for just 130, and although they fought hard to take eight wickets, the End got over the line.

Eversley slip to second and are five points behind new leaders Datchet. The Boars host Beaconsfield on Saturday.

Hurst all but sealed promotion from Division 3a with a massive 160 run win against a disappointing Henley 3rds.

Alex Kayser (100) and captain Alex Fillingham (55) were the cornerstones of the unbeaten league leaders 216-8, before a sensational spell from Lewis Smith (8-31) routed the hosts for just 56.

Second-placed Wargrave suffered a surprising defeat against lowly Purley-on-Thames which saw them lose ground on Hurst.

The Potters batted first at the Recreation Ground and totalled an impressive 241-6, and that proved far too many for the hosts as they were bowled out for 160, with Euan Woods top scoring (71) Jack Kendall made a superb 68 but could not help Royal Ascot avoid a seven wicket defeat at Falkland 2nds.

His side amassed 199, but that proved insufficient as Ascot’s outside promotion hopes took another severe knock.

Eversley 2nds secured a four wicket triumph at basement side Theale & Tilehurst after chasing down 107 to win.

A sensational knock of 119 by Hafiz Mahmood continued Bracknell’s recent improved form in Division 4b.

His fine effort at Larges Lane helped his side post 237 against Thatcham Town 2nds, and that proved to be more than enough as the visitors were bowled out for 145.

Rock bottom Hurst 2nds crashed to a 168 run hiding at home to Maidenhead & Bray 2nds in Division 5a.

The hosts asked Maids to bat but had to watch on as they racked up 247-6, and Hurst were then skittled for just 79.

Jason Collen (4-29), Mark Thomson (2-23) and Robert Saunders (2-52) were all among the wickets for the Boars as they dismissed Hill for 200.

However the hosts struggled in reply and only Saunders (41) reached double figures as they crashed to 100 all out.

Wargrave 2nds lost top spot to opponents Chiswick & Latymer 3rds after falling to a heart-breaking eight run loss in Division 7a.

Wargrave 3rds hopes of sealing promotion from Division 9b took a major blow after they slipped to a shock 71 run loss at struggling Chenies & Latimer.

The hosts totalled 238-5, before bowling Wargrave out for 177.

Meanwhile, it was a disappointing day for Wokingham CC as a superb all round performance from Henley 2nds professional Zippy Ashraf consigned the title chasers to an 87-run defeat at The Brakspear Ground.

The Oaks actually made a dream start to the contest as overseas star Jono Fowler ripped out the hosts’ top order with another fabulous display of fast bowling.

He had both openers - Zac Jones and Alex Price - caught by wicket keeper Stuart Parsons, and then dismissed Prakash Gurung to leave Henley reeling on 19-3.

Shortly after Fowler clean bowled Tom Oldershaw with a slower ball, but was called for a front foot no ball.

Given that reprieve, neither Oldershaw nor Ashraf looked back as they shared a magnificent stand of 199 which was only ended when Paul Dewick bowled the former for 104.

With Ashraf finishing unbeaten on 88, Henley closed on 225-4 from their 52 overs.

Wokingham’s reply got off to the worst possible start when Parsons was caught at slip off the first ball of the innings from Ashraf.

Jake Turner and Simon Myles swiftly followed on a wicket which was offering considerable turn, as the Oaks slumped to 36-3.

Craig Beales and Stuart Hayter both fell in quick succession to seamer Dan Hayden, and Ashraf (5-56) then grabbed two more quick wickets to leave Wokingham staring down the barrel on 79-7.

Further calamity struck as Jamie Hall was run out with just one more run added, but captain Jack Turner continued to battle in what was a one man show for the batting side.

He added 29 for the ninth wicket with Martin Bishop to at least ensure the Oaks went past three figures, but Turner was eventually the last man out when he fell to left arm spinner Cameron Jacobsen for an exceptional 87, as Wokingham were dismissed for 138.

With other results going against them, Wokingham drop to fourth, 16 points behind new leaders Datchet.

They will hope to put their championship challenge back on track when they host Marlow on Saturday.

Wokingham 2nds also saw their promotion hopes take a hit as they suffered a horror show with the bat against Newbury.

The Oaks crashed to an eight wicket defeat in the Thames Valley League Division 3a encounter after being blitzed for just 66 at Sadlers End.

Only Oliver Miles and Jarrett Bobb (38) made it into double figures as Rajeev Hanabe (4-21) and Matt Corne (4-26) ran riot.

David Healey (2-17) removed Newbury opener Ed Uden for a duck, and there was a glimmer of hope when he also dismissed captain Charlie Anstey cheaply.

But this proved a false dawn and the visitors cruised to their target in just 15 overs.

The Oaks stay third and are 20 points behind second placed Wargrave.

Wokingham 3rds clung on for a draw against Purley-on-Thames.

The Potters batted first and racked up an impressive 281-5, with captain James Measham leading from the front with 87 and Raj Senniappan adding a hard-hit unbeaten 57.

In reply, Wokingham were never in the hunt to chase the runs down, but managed to salvage a draw as they closed on 183-9 to take six points from the contest.

In Division 8a, Wokingham 4ths provided a ray of light for the club with a resounding 142 run win at home to Cove Academy.

The hosts won the toss and declared on 228-4 after 47 overs, and they then decimated Cove for just 86.

Wokingham 5ths also suffered a disastrous batting collapse as they were routed for just 56 by a rampant Bracknell 2nds in Division 9a.

Opener Simon Herrington (27) made almost half his team’s runs and only Hasanein Ghafoor also made it to double figures as second placed Bracknell maintained their charge for a promotion place.

Wokingham fought hard in the field and Daniel Heath (2-13) and Callum Creighton (2-12) did their best to revive a seemingly lost cause.

But that proved impossible as Bracknell secured the win by five wickets.
