Eversley elected to field first but the visitors made a fast start to race to 48-0 after nine overs, before Boars captain Scott Dyer (3-25) and paceman Jack Sever (4-40) ripped through their middle order to leave Yateley 104-8.

A crucial ninth-wicket partnership of 51 between Stuart Lipo (41*) and Anthony Muir (30) helped the visitors out of their perilous situation and they were eventually dismissed for 174.

Chris Last (23) and Jack Ford (20) made a steady start in the hosts reply, but they too suffered a mid innings wobble as Godwill Mamhiyo, Shane Green, Justin Parvess and Steve Jordan fell cheaply in the face of good bowling from Lipo (2-12) and Harry Bartlett (2-51) to leave the game on a kinfe edge.

However, with their side in trouble on 104-6, wicket keeper batsman Andy Parker (58* off 67 balls) and Dyer (25* off 20) used their skill and experience to counter attack and lead their side to victory in the 47th over.

The win was the Boars sixth triumph in seven games and takes them to fourth in the table, just nine points behind leaders Wokingham.

Eversley face a vital clash against second-placed Kew on Saturday.

A magnificent match-winning 81 from Matthew Martin helped Eversley 3rds seal a dramatic two wicket win against Fleet 2nds.

Robert Saunders (6-56) was the pick of the Boars attack as the visitors posted an impressive 208-9, but that was not enough as Martin’s heroics saw his team to victory.

Eversley 4ths had the better of a draw in their Division 8a clash against Cove Academy.

The Boars were bowled out for only 134, but bowled and fielded well to restrict their opponents to 105-8 in reply.
