TALENTED Zimbabwean cricketer Simon Mugava is using Eversley as a stepping stone to pursuing his ultimate dream of representing his country.
Mugava, 21, joined from the Mid West Rhinos franchise this summer through the Eversley bursary scheme and has already made a significant impact at the Hampshire club.
The right-arm spinner has played a dozen games for the Division 2a side since moving to England and has made 448 runs, averaging close to 50.
He hit 78 against Cookham Dean recently - his highest score to date - and is clearly enjoying life in the northern hemispere.
"I've been looking forward to coming to England since I was 19," Mugava told the News.
"Eversley's a great club with a great bunch of guys. They've welcomed me and I really feel like one of them. I'm loving it here."
