WOKINGHAM CC skipper Dan Reddyhough says they have the character and quality to bounce back from their first defeat of the season.

The Sadler's End side saw their brief stint at the top of Thames Valley Division One come to an end after a 34-run home loss to Beaconsfield.

The visitors recovered well from a slow start to reach a competitive total of 190-5 and then bowled Wokingham out for 156.

It is the first time since returning to the top flight that Wokingham have suffered defeat, but Reddyhough believes they will hit back at Henley 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

"There wasn't one particular reason for the loss against Beaconsfield, but we showed last season that we have the character to bounce back," he told the News.

"We said last week when we went top that we hadn't won the league and after one loss we certainly haven't lost the league, but we have to get back on track. We need to stay positive and keep our momentum going."
