Cricket round-up: Soza off the mark as Wokingham triumph

RUKSHAN Soza was in the runs for the first time this season as Wokingham beat Marlow by eight wickets in Thames Valley Division One.
After being dismissed for three successive ducks, Soza opened the innings with 70 not out to help Wokingham to 188-2 in response to Marlow's 183 all out. Stuart Parsons was the top scorer, smashing 76 runs from 47 balls.
Finchampstead are still searching for their first win of the season after crashing to a 35-run defeat at Amersham.
The hosts were put into bat and Abhay Mayer (59) and Rob Viney (50) provided the foundations for a total of 206-7.
Finches' reply got off to a bad start as Matt Jones and Russell Lane were both caught early to leave Finch on 18-2.
Dan Lincoln (61) steadied the innings but a flurry of wickets in the lower order saw Finch all out for 171.
Eversley moved back to the top of Division 2a thanks to a nervy two-wicket victory over Fleet.
Eversley started well in pursuit of the 172-run target, with opener and skipper Phil Wise reaching 18 and Simon Mugava hitting a steady 74 not out.
The hosts faltered in the middle order before finally reaching the target with two wickets to spare.
Royal Ascot suffered a heavy 130-run loss to league leaders Aldershot - their first defeat in Division 3a this season.
Aldershot set a decent total of 258-5 with half centuries from Faizal Abbas (56), Matthew Pegg (69*) and Naeman Baig (83).
Ascot couldn't match the opposition's run-rate and were bowled out for 128 with the highlight coming from overseas batsman Adam Esposito, who managed 53 runs.
Bracknell suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of bottom-of-the-table NPL Teddington.
The visitors batted first but were undone by the bowling of Toby Macintosh who claimed six wickets for 33 runs as Bracknell were dismissed for 134.
Teddington, who were without a win all season, reached the target with four wickets to spare.
