CHECKENDON captain Vikas Chib produced a match-winning spell of 6-13 as Premier Division table-toppers Checkendon crushed Sandhurst by eight wickets, writes Richard Ashton.

Shiva Aruna also chipped in with 3-8 as the Camels were skittled for 89, and Aruna (42no) then led the charge as Checks eased to 93-2 in less than 20 overs.

Woodley maintained their good form by having the better of a home draw with Woodcote.

Opening bowler Mark Pearson (4-40) was in fine form for the visitors early on, but his removal from the attack for bowling two full tosses allowed Mohamed Azeez the chance to score 55 and lead his side to 204, Mike Stroker taking 3-10.

The Woodcote reply never really got going, the away side ending on 154-9 as Rizmy Nilamdeen (3-16) and Arshad Mohamed (3-34) impressed.

Skipper Michael Sheridan made an unbeaten 88 and Ali Jalil chipped in with 41 as Farley Hill (171-4) beat Ibis Mapledurham (99) by 72 runs.

Jalil followed up his knock with 3-4 and Andy Marr also snared 3-29 for the Hill.

Will Bray’s brilliant 134 helped Mortimer West End have the better of their draw with Berkshire County Sports.

Rashid Choudry grabbed 3-55, but MWE amassed 261-5 before restricting their opponents to 202-7, Kashif Mehmood (60) and Amer Aziz (43) impressing for the visitors.

Anurag Shukla’s 5-27 inspired Division One pacesetters Shinfield to a four-wicket triumph at home to Woodley 2nds.

Pradeep Kadloor top scored with 58 as the visitors were bowled out for 176, and Muhammed Hafeez then whacked an unbeaten 71 from just 45 balls to usher Shinfield to victory.

Dan Partridge took brilliant figures of 5-11 to lead Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds (83-6) to a four-wicket success at Earley (82), while Waltham St Lawrence (143) picked up a 72-run win at Hawley (71).

John Synodinos made a superb 107 and Marc Minikin (58) and Luke Anthony (52) were also among the runs as Stratfield Turgis (279-6) hammered Peppard Stoke Row 2nds (158) by 121 runs.

Riaan Ackerman (48) and Gerry Bacon (47) offered some resistance (47), but Abishek Singh’s 5-34 proved crucial in helping Stratfield to victory.

Title contenders Twyford & Ruscombe (132-3) crushed West Reading 2nds (130) by seven wickets.

In Division Two, Ian Millson scored 64 for Knowl Hill (151-7), but they lost by five wickets to Welford Park 2nds (152-5).

Graham Smith’s 5-18 helped Sulhamstead 3rds bowl Wokingham 6ths out for 149, but it was the Oaks who enjoyed a 35-run win after Arvind Bhat took 5-22 to dismiss Sully for 114.

Purley on Thames 3rds and Sandhurst 2nds conceded their games at Peppard Stoke Row 3rds and West Reading 3rds respectively.

Division Three leaders Mortimer West End 2nds battered Falkland Development by 156 runs.

Colin Cumner’s 83 led West End to 242-5, and they then rolled the hosts for a mere 86 in reply.

Fahad Raja made 68 for West Reading 4ths as they beat Shinfield 3rds by 96 runs.

Sandeep Bharat took 5-53 as Wests were bowled out for 250, but the home side could only reach 154 in the chase.

Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds’ (143) skipper John Cartledge bagged 4-16 to lead his team to a narrow 14-run success against Earley 2nds (129).

Mortimer were gifted a 35-point win as hosts Waltham St Lawrence 2nds conceded the game.

  • CAPTAIN Christian Whittaker smashed 58 for Berkshire, Chilterns and Mid Bucks Championship leaders Harpsden as they beat Braywood by 94 runs.

Mohammed Waheed’s 6-52 had kept the table-toppers to 211-9 in their 52 overs, but Will Stevens (4-25) and Tom Hancock (3-19) proved too good for Braywood as they were dismissed for 117.

Surinder Singh blasted 78 and Saleem Farooqi added an unbeaten 50 as Ruislip Victoria crushed rock bottom Crowthorne & Crown Wood by 134 runs.

The visitors declared on 293-8 after 51 overs, and despite Shabaz Ramzan whacking 77 from only 56 balls in reply, the Crows were bowled out for 159, Farrukh Mahmood (3-24) and Shair Khan (3-56) doing the damage for Ruislip.

A remarkable lower-order recovery helped Ley Hill snatch an astonishing one-wicket success at home to Penn & Tylers Green.

Richard Clarke (3-19) and Jack Thompson (3-22) bowled the hosts into a good position as Penn were knocked over for 170, but their skipper Matt Lance (5-49) then had Ley Hill reeling on 63-7.

However, Ben Ford’s patient 53 from 113 balls began to steady the ship as Craig Ottaway also added 47, but when the duo were out the game looked gone at 129-9.

Thompson (32no) completed a fine all-round display and was joined by Tristan Reynolds in putting on an unbroken 42-run last-wicket stand which snatched a famous win.

Chris Cross (4-29) and Alex Heaney (3-26) bowled second-placed Chalfont St Giles (159-5) to a convincing five-wicket victory at West Reading (157), Richard Dean (45) top scoring for Chalfont.

Spin twins Max Baker-Smith (4-48) and Dion Sampson (3-52) again starred for Peppard Stoke Row as they recorded back-to-back victories with an eight-wicket success at Welford Park.

Skipper Ben Myers made 60 for the hosts and tailender Steven Yahia also chipped in with an unbeaten 47, but Park were bowled out for 193 after Baker-Smith grabbed the vital wicket of Will Herrington – magnificently caught at deep mid wicket by Dan Hayden – second ball.

In reply, Jamie Sharrock and Don Townsin (45) put on 118 for the first wicket, and Sharrock completed his first century for PSR to finish on 104 not out in their total of 197-2.

  • EMMBROOK & Bearwood (183-9) moved off the bottom of the Chilterns League Premier Division after they had the better of a draw at home to Pinkneys Green (127-7).

In Division Three, Sandeep Patel (4-14) and Andrew Robertson bowled Emmbrook & Bearwood 2nds into a strong position as they knocked Littlewick Green 2nds over for 138.

However, despite Patel’s 37, the Bears failed to chase the runs, dismissed for 110 to lose by 28 runs.
