OPENER Tom Howorth was unbeaten on 48 as Eversley set a good platform in their Division 2a game at Chesham 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

South African Andrew Niblett was 22 not out in the Boars’ total of 99-2 from 17 overs, but rain intervened.

Eversley host Maidenhead & Bray this coming Saturday.

Eddie Lee top scored with 43 before Binfield’s (205) Division 4a game at Bagshot 2nds was washed out.

Lower order batsman Duncan Wessels (39) and Shaun Miller (34) were also in good form for the visitors, while George Whatling was the pick of the attack with 3-42 from his 10 overs.

Binfield host Sulhamstead on Saturday.

Saeed Ahmed took 3-26 as Royal Ascot 2nds put themselves into a handy position at Henley 3rds (132-5 from 28 overs).

Peter Henly bagged 3-23 as Bracknell (69-1) looked on top in their Division 5b encounter with Falkland 3rds (210), Tamer Sultan (63) top scoring as skipper Saurabh Bhandari added an unbeaten 45.

Bracknell travel to Boyne Hill 3rds on Saturday.

Left-arm spinner Sam Glaze (3-54) starred for Eversley 2nds as they had Thatcham Town 2nds 195-5 from 32 overs.

In Division 6b, Binfield 2nds scored 140-5 in the 28 overs they managed to play before the weather set in.

Youngster Zack Waight took 3-9 in five overs as Eversley 3rds had Yateley 2nds (96-6 from 25.2 overs) in trouble in Division 7a.

Matt Salter also claimed 2-20.

Opening bowler James Summers (2-22) and Tom Dummigan (2-32) impressed for Royal Ascot 3rds, but Theale & Tilehurst 3rds managed to post 208-6 before the rain arrived after 41 overs.

Alan Henly was 72 not out for Bracknell 2nds (143-2 in 32 overs), but their Division 8a game with Royal Ascot 4ths also fell victim to the weather.

Eversley 4ths collected 20 points in Division 9a after their opponents Thatcham Town 4ths were unable to raise a side.

  • BINFIELD moved into the semi finals of the Berkshire section of the National Village Cup after Donnington conceded their last-eight tie on Sunday.

Binfield will host Cookham Dean on Sunday, May 27, while in the other half of the draw, Peppard Stoke Row entertain Wargrave.
