WOKINGHAM require just six points from their final two matches to seal the Division One title, following a 33-run victory at Finchampstead 2nds on Saturday, writes Richard Ashton.

Captain Stuart Hayter (91), Stuart Parsons (75) and Dan Housego (57) made hay as the Oaks amassed 294-7 in their 50 overs, and despite fine knocks from Greg Smith (65) and Gary Loveday (42), Finch could only reach 261, Lewis Sharp claiming 3-36.

Wokingham host Gerrards Cross on Saturday (12.30pm).

Eversley climbed to fourth in the Division 2a table with a 52-run victory against Chesham 2nds.

South African Andrew Nibblett scored an incredible 143 of the Boars’ 202, and Nick Rigg (3-25) and Chris Last (3-26) combined to dismiss the hosts for 150.

Eversley visit Windsor on Saturday (12.30pm).

In Division 2b, Hurst (178-9) lost to Thatcham Town (250-6) by 72 runs, despite Phil Higgs making 43. Hurst host Sonning on Saturday (12.30pm).

Royal Ascot were overpowered by 93 runs in their game at High Wycombe 2nds.

Andy Murray claimed 3-25, but the home side smashed 317-7 in their 50 overs.

Ollie Dunnett (79) and James Wensley (60) batted well, but the rate continued to creep up and Ascot closed on 224-9.

Royal Ascot host Slough 2nds on Saturday (12.30pm).

Jack Fisher took 5-52 as Wokingham 3rds moved nearer to Division 3a promotion with a six-wicket win at home to Purley on Thames 2nds.

The Oaks dismissed their opponents for 190, and Matt Loxton (62) and Simon Carter (45) guided the hosts home in 36.2 overs.

Eversley 2nds (117-9) pulled off a stunning 11-run victory against Bagshot 2nds in Division 4a, while Royal Ascot 2nds (102-3) cruised to a seven-wicket win against Reading 2nds (99).

In Division 5b, Bracknell (129-9) boosted their survival hopes with a fine 52-run success against Henley 3rds (77). Mohammed Shabir (4-13) and Imran Raja (4-30) were the stars with the ball.

Bracknell visit Falkland 3rds this Saturday.

Cameron Gillespie claimed 4-65, but Wokingham 3rds (151) lost by 73 runs at Boyne Hill 2nds (224-7 declared in 50 overs).

Hurst 2nds (201-7 declared off 50 overs) crushed Yateley 3rds (89) by 112 runs in Division 6b, while Royal Ascot 3rds (161-9) lost to Sonning 2nds (162-7) by three wickets.

In Division 7a, David Chandler’s 55 was not enough for Bracknell 2nds (131) to avoid a three-wicket defeat to Eversley 3rds (132-7). Saj Farooq took 4-20 for Bracknell.

Mark Simmons made 42 not out for Wokingham 4ths (138-7), but they slipped to a five-wicket defeat at home to North Maidenhead 3rds (139-5).

Chris Harding’s superb 75 kept Royal Ascot 4ths (211-8) in the Division 8a promotion battle after they beat Datchet 4ths (171) by 40 runs. Rob Phillips took 4-20 for Ascot.

Tony Critchley (4-17) and Jeremy Hammond (93no) combined to help Eversley 4ths (138-0) end Wokingham 5ths (135) unbeaten season with a 10-wicket win.
