SANDHURST captain Adam Birch struck a wonderful 107 to help the Camels return to winning ways with a 59-run home Premier Division success against Berkshire County Sports, writes Richard Ashton.

Anthony Clapham also chipped in with 41, and despite the best efforts of Saqib Hussain (3-52) and Babar Butt (3-59), the hosts totalled 258-7 in their 45 overs.

Talat Nawaz (50) led the run chase, but Clapham’s 3-42 proved vital in helping Sandhurst dismiss their opponents for 199.

Chris Warne (69no), skipper Aaron Briggs (65) and Shiva Aruna (49) helped table-toppers Sulhamstead declare on 223-4 after 43 overs against Welford Park, (157), Aruna’s 4-12 then securing a 66-run Sully success. Will Herrington top scored with 71 for Park.

Rahim Khan (113) and Zafar Ali (81) were in fine form as second-placed West Reading (241-5) had the better of a draw at Woodcote (212-9). Ryan Lennard made 42 for Cote, while Hafeez Ul-Wahab took 4-41 for Wests.

Matt Hopper (6-12) and Alfie Clifton (4-23) destroyed the Woodley (39) batting line-up as Peppard Stoke Row (43-0 in just 6.3 overs) romped to a second consecutive 10-wicket victory. Woodley were 5-6 at one stage, with South African Hopper having taken 5-0.

Ruislip Victoria picked up a first win of the season with an 18-run triumph at Crowthorne & Crown Wood.

Their success looked unlikely after Jeff Cluett (3-21) and Rajesh Nagaram (3-23) skittled RV for just 87, but wonderful spells from Shair Khan (5-20) and Mohammed Farooq (4-31) rolled the Crows for only 69.

Mortimer West End cruised to a seven-wicket triumph at Emmbrook & Bearwood in the battle of the top two in Division One.

Opener Ollie Williams top scored with 76 for the Bears, but George Williams’ 4-19 helped dismiss the hosts for 221.

That total never looked enough as Jason Searancke (60), Abrar Pewakar (55) and Tinoi Christie (44no) sped West End to victory with more than 12 overs to spare.

Goring on Thames continue to climb the table with a sixth win in eight games as they overcame Bradfield by one wicket in a thriller.

Jonathan Stebbings (82) and Matt Evans (51) were in fine form for Bradfield, but Pete Slade (6-40) helped bowl them out for 243.

Father-and-son duo Chris (52) and Jack Winterbottom (86) put on 94 for the second Goring wicket, but they collapsed from 227-6 to 237-9 before scraping over the line with four balls in hand.

Left handers Chris Mercer (105) and Jason Doole (88) recorded a 179-run opening partnership as Sulhamstead 2nds (268-5) had the better of a draw at home to Ibis Mapledurham (139-9). Vinoth Palanisamy bagged 4-36 for Sully.

Rock bottom West Reading 2nds (198) lost to Checkendon (202-3) by seven wickets. Osman Mahmood top scored with 71 for Wests, while Rama Adigantla grabbed 4-54 for the visitors, and Manpreet Singh’s 74 ushered Checkendon to victory in only 31.4 overs.

Peppard Stoke Row 2nds hung on for a draw in their home game with Farley Hill.

The visitors slipped to 106-6, but an unbroken seventh-wicket stand of 112 between Greg Coney (69no) and Michael Sheridan (42no) hauled them to 218-6.

PSR started steadily, but the middle order failed to fire and it was left to Brett Everett (62no) to ensure his side were not beaten.

Division Two leaders Shinfield eased to a six-wicket victory at home to Emmbrook & Bearwood 2nds.

Anuraag Shukla claimed 4-35 to shoot out the Bears for 133, and Suneet Basra’s unbeaten 67 steered Shinfield home in only 19 overs.

A blistering 143 from Ankush Ghandi fired second-placed Waltham St Lawrence (255-9) to a 23-run win at home to Woodley 2nds. Pavan Naragund smashed a wonderful 123 in reply, but Sid Sainani’s 4-19 helped bowl Woodley out for 232.

Steve Clarke (54 and 3-20) starred with bat and ball as Stratfield Turgis (206-8) beat Twyford & Ruscombe (145) by 61 runs.

Hawley’s Tom Heighes (150-5) bagged 4-40 as his side beat Warfield (149) by five wickets, Graham Freakes (49no) anchoring the run chase.

Chris Allwright clubbed 96 from just 80 balls, but his Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds (174) side were edged out by two wickets at Earley (175-8). Nirav Upadhyay took 4-33 for the Crows, while earlier Prasad Gore had bagged 4-39 for Earley.

West Reading 3rds remain top of Division Three following a routine 10-wicket success at Purley-on-Thames 3rds.

Aqeel Butt took 4-30 for Wests, and openers Ghalib Hussain (80no) and Fahad Raja (54no) then knocked the runs off with ease.

Henderson Alleyne (77no) and Uday Paturi (72) led Welford Park 2nds (220-7) to a winning draw against Bradfield 2nds (195-9). Andy Cale grabbed 4-49 for Park, but they could not quite get the final wicket.

Allan May (4-28)did the damage for Peppard Stoke Row 3rds (106) as they squeezed home by 10 runs in a low-scoring encounter at Mortimer (96).

Second-bottom Ruislip Victoria 2nds conceded their game with Sandhurst 2nds, with Emmbrook & Bearwood 3rds having to do the same thing at Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds in Division Four.

A stunning run chase by Binfield 3rds helped them shock table-topping Shinfield 2nds.

Arun Kumar (58) led the charge as the visitors posted an imposing 278-9, but John Humphreys (83), Tom Nower (60no) and James Wright (52) got Binfield home with 20 balls to spare.

Mortimer West End 2nds (195) beat West Reading 4ths (139) by 56 runs. Stand-out performers for the hosts were Josh Cook (66)and Bob Hodson (5-18), while Harjinder Singh (4-25) and Imran Zaman (73) impressed for Wests.

Sulhamstead 3rds (201-9) held on for a draw at home to Falkland Development (235-7).

Oliver Harrison made 76 for Falkland, while Ian Gibson returned 5-42 and scored 68 for Sully.

In the Bye Week Challenge, Mohammed Waqar’s unbeaten 68 fired Knowl Hill (255-7) to a 194-run win against Waltham St Lawrence 2nds (61).
