Teenager Rogers completed a successful weekend for himself and his club by making 115 out of 217 in Finches' victory over Walton-on-Thames in the Royal London Cup on Sunday.

He and Sukhi Kang (34) led a spirited recovery after the first four wickets had gone down for just 36 with Finches reaching 217 all out in the 45th over.

They then routed their hosts for 122, with three wickets each for Augustus, Parsons and Lazenbury.

They will be away to Billingshurst in the second round of this national competition on May 14.

  • Binfield (171) lost to Datchet (251) by 80 runs in the opening round of the Berkshire Cup on Sunday.

A day earlier, they had scored 259-5 to beat Wargrave (220-6) in a friendly.

This coming Sunday they face Cookham Dean away in the national village cup with the winners home to Wargrave in the second round on May 14.

Binfield are absolutely delighted with the response to the fund set up in memory of club life member Ian Rigby, who died recently in tragic circumstances.
