BRACKNELL Town FC boss Steve Nebbett has put his total faith in his players to fire the club to safety.

Robins climbed up to 14th in the Hellenic Premier table after beating Thame United 1-0 away from home last time out.

But Nebbett has warned his players the club’s position in the league is far from secure.

They are a mere eight points above the relegation having played more games than most clubs beneath them.

However, Nebbett, above, knows his players possess the tools required to get them out of trouble.

“It’s our first year back at this level and we’re still learning,” he told the News. “We’ve trying to find that consistency but I have no doubt we have some of the best players in this league, there is no question about that.

“I have not seen a better player at this level than Sam Barratt. He’s 18 and still has a lot to learn, but he’s an unbelievable player.

“Ben Knight has had a bad time with injury but is coming back to his best. Shane Cooper-Clark is a magnificent player and then you have Liam Alleyne and Harry Brown, I could go on.

“They are tremendous players and a real asset to this club and I’m sure we’ll be fine with them in the side.” Bracknell’s home fixture against Oxford City Nomads on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Robins were hoping to build on their first win of 2014 the previous weekend when they defeated Thame United 1-0 on the road thanks to Martin Bradshaw’s winner.

They were also looking forward to playing in front of their own supporters in their first home fixture since December 28.

But more floods in the area saturated the Larges Lane pitch and the match was called off.

With little break in the weather during the week and more to come before the weekend, Robins’s home clash against Highworth Town this Saturday (3pm ko) is also in serious doubt.

Nebbett added: “I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say we really need this to stop. So many games are being called off there is bound to be a pile up of fixtures later on in the season.

“Some pitches are worse than others but the main problem is they are not getting rest because it won’t stop raining.

“It’s a shame because we won our last game and were looking to build on it.”
