Bracknell Town manager David Tuttle has been encouraged by his side's recent displays but knows they must start pickung up wins soon if they to avoid the drop.
BRACKNELL Town boss David Tuttle has called on his team to start turning encouraging performances into victories.
Tuttle has brought in several new faces over the last week in a bid to kickstart a disastrous Robins campaign which has seen them lose 21 of their 22 Southern League games so far this season.
Although Bracknell lost 4-0 at Frome last Saturday and 3-0 at home to Paulton Rovers on Tuesday, Tuttle believes there have been some encouraging signs from his new-look team.
With home games to come against Yate Town this Saturday and then Abingdon United next Tuesday, followed by a relegation six-pointer at fellow strugglers Taunton on February 13, Tuttle knows his side must starting picking up points soon.
He said: "We produced one of our best displays of the season against Paulton but we need to carry that on now.
"We've got two vital home games and then the Taunton trip and those three games will sort our season out. It's a key couple of weeks.
"The new players have made a difference and the performance was good on Tuesday night despite the scoreline but we've been here before this season.
"I don't want one good performance then four or five bad ones. We need to show some consistency and get a few wins now.
"Cinderford have shown us it can be done as they've won three in a row now and pulled themselves clear of trouble. We have to do the same."
It remains a tough task for Bracknell to drag themselves clear as they have won just once so far this season and scored only 13 goals in 22 games, but Tuttle believes his new arrivals could make a big impact.
"We've definitely got more of a threat going forward now with Jamel (Forde-Small)," he said.
"He was at Reading for a bit but has lost his way recently, but if he can get his head right then he could be a really big player for us.
"We need to score to give ourselves something to hang onto and hopefully we've got more goals in the side now.
"We're still looking for a couple more players but we certainly look a more balanced team now.
"But we have to stop conceding early goals as well. You set up your team and have a gameplan and early goals destroy that so we have to be concentrating from the first whistle."
FROME Town won the battle of the Robins as Bracknell Town's miserable season continued last weekend.
The Somerset outfit established a 4-0 lead inside the opening 49 minutes before taking their foot off the pedal for the remainder of the half as Bracknell escaped without suffering any further damage to their already dented reputation.
Bracknell got off to the worst possible start when they conceded after just three minutes when Ricky Hulbert caught out the visitors' square backline and lobbed Kyle Bradley from the edge of the box.
Frome then doubled their lead after 27 minutes when Bradley could only knock Luke Ballinger's dangerous low corner into his own net.
Hulbert quickly added a third in farcical fashion on 31 minutes when he was allowed to carry on despite being several yards offside and slotted past an exposed Bradley.
It was game over four minutes after the interval when Mark Salter climbed above Paul Abbott to power a header past Bradley to make it 4-0.
Frome should have added to their tally, with Mick Perrott twice hitting the woodwork and Hulbert missing an open goal from seven yards to complete his hat-trick.
Bracknell had a couple of half chances late on, with Paulo Cicero and Tom Mudge both going close, but they ended up well-beaten on the day as in-form Frome extended their unbeaten run to 18 games.
Bracknell: Bradley, G Smith, Abbott, Havermans, Richardson (Elamir 51), Cicero, Bradshaw, Poulton, Sargeant, Weston, Mudge. Subs not used: Knowles, Smith, Tuttle.
Bracknell's home game against Hungerford Town, which was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 16 (7.45pm ko).
