TERENCE Bohane scored twice as Bracknell Town came from a goal down to beat Oxford City Nomads 4-1 at Larges Lane on Saturday.

It took his season’s tally to 20 goals, the sixth highest in the Hellenic League Premier Division and eight behind team-mate Adam Cornell, who is in second place in the scorers’ list.

TJ also missed a couple of one-on-ones with the Nomads keeper, Craig Hill.

His first came on 23 minutes following good work by Dave Hancock and Jamie McClurg, and it cancelled out Matt Peake-Pinjen’s well-taken fourth-minute opener for the visitors.

Nomads looked anything but a third-from-bottom side, particularly in the opening 45 minutes.

“I thought they played ever so well in the first half,” admitted Town manager Mark Tallentire. “The pitch suited their style of play. They got to grips with it very quickly and got their noses in front.

“We hadn’t really got into the game by that time, but we did manage to get going and get our noses in front by half-time.”

In front of a crowd of 158, Bohane put Bracknell ahead in the 26th minute from an assist by Cornell, who suffered a knock in the process that saw him limp off later in the game.

City had a chance to equalise just before half-time but Billy Gillett was denied by keeper Karl Steinborn-Busse, who was deputising for the unavailable Chris Grace.

Robins bossed the second half and made it 3-1 after 53 minutes when Bohane teed up Joe Grant to sweep the ball home.

Then Grant crashed the ball against the underside of the bar before skipper Carl Davies forced home the fourth on 73 minutes.

Tallentire praised his players, saying: “Once again they showed good character, and we have that in abundance here.”

Robins entertain Ascot United on Saturday (3pm).
