MARK Tallentire secured his first victory having returned to Bracknell Town as manager after they thrashed Frilsham & Yattendon 6-0 to reach the Reading Senior Cup quarter finals.

James Suarez opened the scoring on nine minutes, coolly slotting his penalty into the left-hand corner after Kennie Chamberlain had been fouled.

The lead was doubled in the 19th minute when Jamie McClurg finished well – Suarez’s quick thinking saw him roll a free-kick into McClurg with the visiting defence not ready to react.

Two minutes later and Adam Cornell got in on the act. McClurg turned provider to feed the striker who exquisitely dinked it over the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

The goal of the match came in the 44th minute when Declan Kirby lofted a ball out to the right and Dan Money struck a superb first-time half-volley which flew past the keeper and nestled in the back of the net.

Frilsham had chances of their own in each half but were mostly limited to long-range efforts which Garry Aulsberry dealt with comfortably.

Chances were aplenty for the home side with Suarez shooting over when it looked easier to score, while Cornell headed onto the crossbar then had his follow-up header tipped over.

Bracknell’s movement and vision was causing the visitors problems and Cornell could have had five goals on another day.

It was 5-0 in the 73rd minute as Chamberlain slotted home from close range. Cornell’s initial effort was saved but McClurg was able to collect the loose ball and set up Chamberlain.

The scoring was completed by captain Carl Davies on 76 minutes. Suarez’s corner was flicked on by Cornell and Davies was in the right place to stab the ball home.

The Robins welcome Tuffley Rovers to Larges Lane on Saturday (3pm).
