BRACKNELL Town failed to win manager Mark Tallentire’s first game in charge as hosts Longlevens AFC rallied from a goal down to run out 3-1 victors in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday.

Carl Davies was handed his debut having signed from Burnham and he partnered Luke Hanley in the heart of defence with Tom Nugent moved into midfield.

The first half was very even with chances shared between both teams.

Shaun O’Connor and Brad Martin combined for the home side with Garry Aulsberry tipping the latter’s effort around the post before O’Connor just fired over from 18 yards.

Shane Cooper-Clark profited as a defender missed the ball but the striker fired over from 19 yards.

He then turned provider, crossing for Ryan Coupland whose volley struck the left-hand post before being claimed on the line by Ollie Hall.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Cooper-Clark was too skilful for Ellis Sausman who brought him down inside the penalty area and it was goal number 17 of the season for the striker who smashed home the resulting spot-kick.

Deep in first-half stoppage time, the Robins went to sleep as a deep corner was headed in at the far post by Adam Hughes to level matters.

Longlevens moved ahead in the 51st minute as Martin set up O’Connor who fired home.

Both George Lock and Davies appealed for offside and were furious when their protests were waved away by the officials.

The goal galvanised the hosts as they looked more likely to score the next goal.

O’Connor had an effort deflected to Aulsberry whilst Martin sent his free header wide left with the goal gaping.

A third Levens goal on 80 minutes sealed the win. A long free-kick was flicked on and Martin finished well to ensure the three points went to his side.

Gareth Brown headed over and Cooper-Clark had a very late effort deflected wide as the Robins ran out of time to haul themselves back into the match.

Bracknell Town had previously beaten Abingdon United 3-1 last Tuesday, Cooper-Clark putting his side in front before Jamie Essex equalised. However, Dan Money and Cooper-Clark secured the win.
