The Robins hot-shot took his tally to 27 goals from as many league appearances and looks set to finish the season as the Hellenic League’s leading scorer.

It was Bracknell’s first win since before Christmas, while also giving them revenge for the 5-2 after extra time defeat they suffered in the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup in December.

Probably with that result in mind, the players were clearly up for this game and they never stopped running for the whole 90 minutes. Everybody worked hard for each other and the forwards were not slow in dropping deep to support their midfield and defence.

Bracknell officials also deserve some credit, as theyhad done well to get the pitch playable as parts of it had been under water during the week.

In front of a crowd of 74, the hosts were first to settle and did more of the early attacking, but Highmoor then started to string some moves together and a couple of efforts whistled wide of goal.

Bracknell had a great chance to take the lead just before the half-hour mark when Highmoor keeper Rob Tebby could only push a cross into the path of Cooper-Clark, but the number nine hurried his shot and it flew over the bar.

However, the Robins fans did not have to wait long for the opening goal, as Khalid Senussi’s teasing cross from the left caused problems for Tebby, who could not hold on to the ball. As it fell loose, Dan Money was on hand to fire home from close range in the 38th minute. It was his first league goal for the club.

The table toppers from Reading tried to get back in the game, but the Bracknell defence kept their shape well and looked solid, growing in confidence all the time.

When Highmoor centre-back Calam Gallimore tried to show his forwards the way to goal, he was denied by a flying save from keeper Garry Aulsberry.

Robins’ performance deserved a second goal and it duly came on 80 minutes. Tebby’s attempted clearance was seized on by Kennie Chamberlain and he played the ball through to Cooper-Clark, who made no mistake.

Inspirational skipper Sam Whiting was only inches away from scoring with a free-kick, while the Robins also went close on two other occasions as they finished the game strongly, a testament to their fitness.

All in all, it was a satisfying performance from Bracknell and manager Keith Penicott-Bowen will be hoping that his team will build on it as the Hellenic League season enters its final two months.

Bracknell take on Reading Town at Scours Lane this Saturday and will be hoping to complete the double, having won the home fixture 1–0 last August thanks to a goal from Cooper-Clark.
