The Robins dominated the first half against the in-form Oxfordshire side – who are now unbeaten in six Hellenic League Premier Division games – and had a couple of golden opportunities through Michael Watson and Martin Bradshaw (pictured right) to take the lead.

They failed to do so, but Keith Pennicott-Bowen’s side were given a further boost when Milton’s Jack Daley was sent off for violent conduct after reacting angrily to an earlier challenge.

However, the hosts went ahead just three minutes later when Tom Austin found the net, despite suggestions he may have used his hand to control the ball before hitting the target.

Bracknell – who gave Liam Alleyne a second debut after he rejoined the club – brought on youth team captain Dan Ridge for his first team debut with 15 minutes to go, and although they continued to be the better team, the Robins could not force a way through a stubborn Milton defence.

Bracknell welcome relegation-threatened Abingdon United to Larges Lane on Saturday (3pm).

The Robins won 3-1 against the same opponents back in November, in Pennicott-Bowen’s first game as manager.

• BRACKNELL Town Under 12s reached the final of the Berks & Bucks Cup after beating Newport Pagnell Town 4-1 with a marvellous performance on Sunday.

Will Day, Daniel Baxter, Jake Jenkins and Lucias Vine were on target as the youngsters booked a dream final against Thatcham Town U12s – a side managed by Pennicott-Bowen.

Thatcham beat Marlow United 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

• ICY conditions forced Binfield's Hellenic League Premier Division game at Brimscombe & Thrupp to be postponed on Saturday.

Binfield remain in sixth place in the table and Roger Herridge’s side were due to visit in-form Thame United in the third round of the Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup last night, before travelling to rock bottom Cheltenham Saracens in the league this coming Saturday (3pm).
