It was the third win in four league outings for the Robins, who move up to eighth in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Keith Pennicott-Bowen’s side fell behind early on, but fought back to lead 2-1 through goals from Sam Whiting and Scott Drummond-Bayne.

Bracknell were pegged back before half-time, and their task was made a lot harder in the 63rd minute when Shane Cooper-Clark saw red for retaliating to a late challenge.

But the Robins are made of stern stuff under Pennicott-Bowen, and dug in before snatching victory in added time to take all three points back to Larges Lane.

Taylor Elliot-Money started for Bracknell at right-back, his first game since rejoining the club for a second spell at Larges Lane.

It took just two minutes for the hosts to take the lead, when Luke Ingram slotted past Garry Aulsberry to put Ardley ahead.

The hosts had started brightly and Aulsberry was twice called into action to deny Ricky Johnson and Joe Eyre in the opening ten minutes.

It was a frantic opening and Bracknell started to come into the game, with Cooper-Clark testing Jack Harding in the home goal from 25 yards.

The visitors got back on level terms in the 13th minute when Whiting received a ball from Martin Bradshaw and turned his man before striking the ball past Harding.

Just six minutes later and Bracknell had completed the turnaround when Drummond-Bayne drilled the ball home from the edge of the box to put the visitors ahead.

In a fast-paced, end-to-end game though, the lead lasted just five minutes as Ardley capitalised on a Harry Brown error to level the scores. Brown conceded possession and Callum Convey picked up the ball, crossing to Johnson who made no mistake as he powered a header home.

It was Ardley who dominated proceedings for the rest of the half, with Drummond-Bayne and Jordan Rowland clearing off the line at various stages, while Ausberry was in magnificent form to tip away goalbound efforts.

The pressure continued into the second-half, with Convey missing from ten yards, before Eyre saw his curling effort go just wide.

Aulsberry was fast becoming the hero for Bracknell as he made a fantastic save to deny Ingram from point-blank range.

The Robins were struggling to get out of their own half, but one swift breakaway saw Martin Bradshaw blaze over from a tight angle, with Cooper-Clark perfectly placed for a cutback.

Three minutes later and the Bracknell striker’s frustration got the better of him as he clashed with Harding in the home goal. Cooper-Clark reacted to a strong challenge and pushed Harding in the face, meaning the referee had no option but to dismiss the league’s leading goalscorer.

It was already a tough second-half for the Robins, but they had 27 minutes to hold off a rampant Ardley side, who continued to test Aulsberry.

Ingram was again denied by the clear man-of-the-match, while John Gardner was also denied by the keeper.

As the clock ticked towards 90 minutes, Ardley began to run out of ideas and the visitors grew in confidence, eventually getting their reward for a dogged defensive display when White netted.

Ebenezer Opoku-Ware played it inside to Whiting, who found Rowland out wide. He delivered a dangerous cross and White was on hand to connect fully with the ball to send it beyond Harding and spark jubilant scenes as the Robins celebrated an unlikely three points on the road.

The full-time whistle blew shortly afterwards and the visitors were visibly buoyant having moved up to eighth place in the table.

Bracknell were due to host Shrivenham last night (Tuesday), before welcoming Thatcham Town to Larges Lane on Saturday (3pm).
