Bracknell fell behind to the Spartan South Midland League side in the 37th minute but hit back impressively with two goals in first half stoppage time giving them the lead.

First, Jordan Rowland’s free-kick was sent goalwards by Harry Brown and although the Holmer Green goalkeeper pushed it out, Luke Angel was on hand to follow up and finish from close range.

Two minutes later and Sam Whiting’s corner was headed back by Dan Broadbear at the far past with Ryan Coupland perfectly placed to fire home from six yards out.

The lead was extended in the 62nd minute as Rowland’s wicked free-kick was headed in by a defender for an own goal.

However Holmer Green rallied well and pulled it back to 3-2 on 73 minutes as a ball in from the left was only half cleared by Brown and a deflected shot allowed them to score.

Shane Cooper-Clark restored the two goal lead on 88 minutes to seal the victory. James King’s shot cannoned back off the crossbar and Lewis Burns’ follow-up made it as far as Cooper-Clark who showed poachers instinct to score.

Bracknell travel to Bedford and Feltham in their latest pre-season clash on Saturday (3pm ko), before a trip to Bedfont Sports next Tuesday (7pm ko).

Binfield FC THE Moles eased to an impressive victory as prolific striker Ian Davies bagged a hat-trick and new club captain Dave Woozley made his debut in an 8-2 victory against Fairford Town.

Davies opened his account within seconds of the start, side footing home from eight yards, before Josh Warren scored with a fine curling free kick into the top corner after Seb Bowerman was brought down on the edge of the box.

Late in the half, Warren capped his own fine performance with his second, blasting across the keeper from 15 yards.

Fairford grabbed a goal back with a free kick of their own to make it 3-1 at the break.

The Moles made a series of second half changes which saw the introduction of Josh Howell, Aaron Rowland and Matt Davies, replacing Callum Whitty, Jack Tallentire and Carl Withers.

Howell in particular put in an impressive display, using his pace and crossing ability to create chances and scoring perhaps the pick of the afternoon’s goals. Exchanging a quick one-two with Davies, Howell outpaced his marker and found the net from 15 yards with a fine strike.

Either side of that goal, Davies had completed his hat-trick - first glancing in Howell’s right wing cross on the volley, before later completing his triple with an overhead kick.

Late on Jemel Johnson volleyed in from close range and Seb Bowerman cut in to find the net from 10 yards, with another Town fine free kick, similar to Warren’s earlier effort, their 2nd goal.

The Moles travel to Brockenhurst for another friendly on Saturday (3pm ko).

Wokingham & Emmbrook FC A GEORGE Dance brace helped Sumas to a resounding 4-1 victory against Hartley Wintney on Saturday.

In a tight start to the game, Sumas goalkeeper Nick Bovingdon was forced to make a pair of excellent saves, before a 25 yard thunderbolt from Mark O’Connell gave his side the lead.

Wokingham doubled their lead on 10 minutes when striker Luke Scope squared to George Dance who opened his account for the campaign.

The lead was further increased midway through the half when Dance slotted into the bottom right corner of the goal from a few yards out to register his second.

Hartley Wintney pulled a goal back 10 minutes into the second half, but that was merely the catalyst for Sumas to push forward and Sam Bateman - who had earlier had another chance well saved - rounded off the scoring in the 85th minute.

The Sumas travel to Guernsey FC as their pre-season preperations continue on Saturday (1pm ko).

Ascot United BEN Knight continued his scoring streak but could not help his side avoid defeat as The Yellamen slipped to a 3-2 loss against Oakwood FC last Saturday.

Jermaine Roache also got on the scoresheet for Ascot but they slipped to a loss.

On Wednesday, Rob Saunders and Stuart Swift helped the side to a 2-0 win against Sheerwater.

The Yellamen face Horndean on Saturday (3pm ko).
