Vanya Antonov bagged a hat-trick as import forward Radek Hubacek boosted his confidence with a two-goal salvo at The Hive.

Young defenceman Josh Smith netted his first senior goal and James Galazzi also chipped in as Bracknell ran riot over Invicta.

Bracknell started the game on the front foot and they eventually took the lead, albeit in fortuitous circumstances.

Antonov opened his account midway through the first stanza with a shot that squeezed under Invicta netminder Chris Douglas.

The hosts took the advantage into the first interval, but they were pegged back as Callum Fowler levelled the scores on 23 minutes.

The equaliser forced Bracknell into a reaction and their response was almost immediate, Antonov regaining the lead at 27.52.

Just 32 seconds separated the next two goals as Hubacek rattled home via the pipes, then teen star Smith beat Douglas to a loose puck.

The Bees were out of sight when Hubacek swept home a first-time effort into the top corner in the 39th minute.

There was still time in the middle stanza for Galazzi to capitalise on a mix-up to prod home from a yard out.

Invicta developed a stubborn side in the final period but they were eventually wore down by man-of-the-match Antonov late in the game.

On Sunday, Bracknell Bees suffered a 4-1 defeat at Chelmsford Chieftains in the British Challenge Cup on Sunday.

Things started badly for the The Bees in Essex as Vanya Antonov was ruled out of the match through injury.

Bracknell out-shot Chelmsford in the first stanza, and were awarded two powerplay opportunities, but could not beat the hosts’ netminder.

Two quick-fire Chelmsford goals via Cameron Bartlett and Danny Hammond set the game alight as Bees responded through Matt Foord.

Bracknell then suffered a blow when Josh Smith limped out of the match with an injury to his knee.

The home side capitalised as Bartlett made it 3-1 with less than two minutes to go in the middle period.

The Bees tried everything they could to get back into the match but conceded a fourth after pulling Tom Annetts from the net.

Ross Brears sealed the victory and the points for Chelmsford with an empty net goal in the dying seconds.

Bracknell welcome Sheffield Steeldogs to The Hive this Saturday (6pm face/off).

They then host Wightlink Raiders on December 6 (8pm).
