His contract had expired at the end of the last campaign but the British forward re-signed for his fourth consecutive season at the Hive and his sixth in total – having spent time with Slough Jets and Basingstoke Bison at various points of his career.

The 28-year-old contributed 10 goals and 15 assists during last season’s campaign that saw the Bees finish eighth in the EPIHL before falling to defeat in the play-offs against Manchester Phoenix.

Spearing earned the Bees 25 points with his goals and assists and his clutch play in the second-half of the season was a key factor in the club reaching the play-offs.

It is believed Spearing had offers from others clubs but declined them to commit to the Bees ahead of their new EPIHL campaign.

“He is a great guy to have on the ice and in the room,” said Bracknell Bees head coach Lukas Smital.

“He’s one that epitomises the team ethos. As well as the gritty and passionate game Scott brings to the table every night, I also felt that last season he really showed what a talented player he is when given an opportunity in a more offensive role”.

Ben Beeching, general manager of Bracknell Bees was delighted with Spearing re-signing and said: “Scott is one of the core heart and soul guys on the team. I’ve always enjoyed his style of play and the dimensions he brings on the ice, and on top of this I’ve been really impressed with his professionalism and conduct off the ice since I became involved in the club.

“To say we are delighted to have him back on a multi-year deal is an understatement, and I look forward to working with Scott again.

“He is a great guy to have on the ice and in the dressing room, and he’s one that epitomises the team ethos. “
