Hubacek will arrive at The Hive from HC Dukla Jihlava having clocked up just under a point-per-game in 48 games in the Czech league last year.

His 17 goals and 27 assists were good enough for eighth place in the scoring leaderboard in a league featuring a number of notable players including ex-NHLers David Vyborny and Ales Kotalik.

Bees head coach Lukas Smital said: “I have known about Radek for a long time and I am really excited at bringing him to Bracknell and his fast-paced style of play will be a perfect fit for the EPL.

"He is also an extremely positive guy to have around the team and he will bring leadership and a great all-round game to the club”.

Hubacek, 29, is equally adept at playing either centre or on the wing and will also offer versatility with his ability to play the powerplay and penalty kill.

His brother, Petr, played for NHL side Philadelphia Flyers and has made more than 100 appearances for the Czech Republic.

The signing comes just days after Bees decided to release last season's Forward of the Year Shaun Thompson.

Bees general manager Ben Beeching said: "Radek is a great fit for the club. He’ll be an important addition for us and with his background and references he’s sure to bring a lot of excitement to The Hive next season.

"More than this we believe he’ll be a great team-mate to the guys and share his experience with the younger guys on the squad”.

Bees are expected to announce more signings in the coming weeks.
