BRACKNELL Bees continued their superb run with another four-point haul over the weekend.

Wins over Swindon Wildcats and Guildford Flames made it five wins on the spin in the English Premier Ice Hockey League and lifts them above Swindon.

A full-strength Bees side beat Wildcats 4-3 on Saturday night.

James Galazzi opened the scoring for the visitors in a period that saw five goals scored.

Two quick-fire goals from Henri Sandvik and Aaron Nell turned the game in Swindon’s favour but in a topsy turvy quarter, Bees took a 3-2 lead going into the second period thanks to Lukas Smital and Chris Wiggins.

After a goalless second period, Swindon’s Jan Kostal took advantage of a goalmouth scramble to equalise but with just under a minute left, Jan Bendik unleashed a snapshot that gave Bees a 4-3 win.

There were less goals at the Hive on Sunday but Bees still came away with an excellent 2-1 win over Flames.

Ollie Bronimann scored on the powerplay in the first period.

Flames equalised but in a tempestuous game, Bees kept their heads and scored the winner through Galazzi, to maintain their winning streak.

Netminder Alex Mettam picked up man-of-the-match.

Bees host Peterborough Phantoms at the Hive on Saturday (6pm f/o) before travelling to Manchester Phoenix on Sunday (5pm f/o).
