BRACKNELL Bees ensured they will finish no lower than seventh in the English Premier Ice Hockey League this season after beating Swindon Wildcats 3-2 on Saturday evening.
Goals from Martin Masa, Ollie Bronnimann and Scott Spearing helped Bees make it six wins from six against their local rivals.
Unfortunately they could not follow it up with victory at The Hive on Sunday as they went down 4-3 to Slough Jets.
Matt Foord, Rob Lamey and Shaun Thompson were on target for Bees as they suffered a narrow defeat.
Bees complete their regular season with a trip to Telford Tigers on Saturday (5.30pm f/o) followed by a home match with Sheffield Steeldogs the next evening (6pm f/o).
They could finish sixth or seventh in the table depending on Swindon's results on the final weekend.
Wildcats are two points ahead of Bees and both sides could still face Manchester Phoenix, Basingstoke Bison or Milton Keynes Lightning in the first round of the play-offs.
