BRACKNELL Bees assistant coach Lukas Smital believes his side have to remain 'on the edge' to challenge in the English Premier Ice Hockey League this season.
With 10 points gathered from their 10 games, Bees are huddled in mid-table, just four points behind leaders Manchester Phoenix.
But such is the competitive nature of the league this year that Milton Keynes Lightning in eighth spot trail Phoenix by the same amount of points.
"We found a way to win at the weekend and that was crucial," Smital told the News. "We got to overtime and managed to win in penalties, last year we didn't do that enough.
"Saturday against Slough was disappointing but what is most pleasing is the way we bounced back the next night. A lot of players were carrying injuries and playing through the pain so we showed a lot of character to come back the way we did and win."
