Errors not officials cost us games - Cox

BRACKNELL Bees head coach Gareth Cox refused to blame the officials for his side's back-to-back defeats to Milton Keynes Lightning last weekend.
After going down 4-2 in Buckinghamshire on Saturday evening, Bees were then beaten 4-3 at The Hive the following night.
But the Bee Army were far from impressed with a couple of controversial calls from the officials in the final period on Sunday.
First, a goal by Martin Masa was chalked out for offside and, after both Masa and Lukas Smital were handed 10-minute misconduct penalties for their protests, another effort was ruled out.
This time Shaun Thompson thought he had scored, only for the officials to adjudge the puck had not crossed the line.
The decisions did not sit well with those in the stands, but Cox says he was more concerned about the errors his side made over the weekend.
"We were a bit upset at some of the decisions but we also made mistakes and we were punished for them in both games," he told the News.
"Some of the calls didn't go our way, but not everything does, and hopefully the decisions will even themselves out over the season.
"There are still plenty of positives to take from the weekend, and if we hadn't made the mistakes we did then we would have won the games. We gifted them five goals and that's costly."
The losses saw Bees slip down the English Premier Ice Hockey League table from their lofty position of third.
And they face a tough challenge to climb back up the division this weekend as they go to Slough Jets on Saturday (6.30pm f/o) and then host Swindon Wildcats on Sunday (6pm f/o).
Bees will still be without forward Ollie Bronnimann for the two matches after he was forced off with an injury in the win over Sheffield Steeldogs on September 22.
Speaking about when Bronnimann could return, Cox said: "Ollie is still going to be a while away from coming back, I don't really have much more on it at the moment. He is hopefully going to be back skating with us next week and we will see from there."
