Ice Bees were crowned champions of the South of England U16s Girls League last week and showcased their dominance at The Hive on Sunday with a fantastic display that saw them restrict their opponents to just three shots on their goal.

It took just 155 seconds for Bees to make the breakthrough as Abbie Sylvester broke the deadlock with a fine individual goal.

Oxford were put under continuous pressure and Bees struck twice in 18 seconds to cruise into a 3-0 lead after 13 minutes.

Ellie Wakeling scored the second on 12:31 before Louise Beresford fired home on 12:49.

It was a damaged limitiation exercise from the visitors in the second period and they defended well to frustrate Bracknell, but Wakeling did extend the lead with her second goal of the game to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

She then completed her hat-trick on 43:06 and it ended 5-0, despite continious Bees pressure that saw them fire a mammoth 48 shots at the Oxford netminder.

The girls will now turn their attention towards preparing for the National Play-off finals which will be held at the Sheffield Arena on Sunday, May 24.

The Ice Bees will take on the best team in the north of England for the chance to be crowned as national champions.

Winning in Sheffield would cap an outstanding season for the Ice Bees and they’re sure to give it their all in a bid to grab another win and bring the trophy home.
