The core of the deal will result in the Bees working with Ascot Lawyers to raise awareness of the good causes it supports, while the Lawyers will also sponsor the side through jersey logos, rink-level advertising and a range of other promotional opportunities throughout the season.

The foundation is a charitable organisation set up in 2012 by Alan Carr, Neil Somerville and Peter Williams which supports deserving causes including the Coming Home campaign for the Haig Housing Trust that supports severely injured armed forces personnel, Topic of Cancer and Team Sophie in recognition of local paralympian Sophie Christiansen.

Ascot Lawyers’ partner Peter Williams said: “Neil and I have personally followed the Bracknell Bees as fans for many years and we are delighted to be able to continue promoting the Bees for the fifth year as corporate sponsors.

“You will find us and many of our Ascot Lawyers’ colleagues attending the home games at the weekend; it is the favourite sport of many within our firm. We have two current ice hockey players working for us, both of whom are in the process of completing their training to become lawyers.

“We were delighted to hear that in December 2013 the Bracknell Bees officially had the largest fan base in the league and attracted the biggest crowd to an ice hockey game in over 10 years.

“We appreciate this opportunity to continue supporting and engaging with the community in our local area, and we are delighted to be part of such a large and rooted fan base - especially as our business is based on investing in and developing local connections and regional ties.” Bees’ General Manager, Ben Beeching, also expressed his enthusiasm with the relationship.

He said: “Ascot Lawyers are a valuable contributor to the Bees cause in a number of different ways, and I have really appreciated Neil and Peter’s support since I have got to know them.

“Not only do they support the team from a financial perspective but also as keen fans of the games themselves.” He added that the link with the Foundation “allows us to use the Bees’ name and presence in the community to support a number of fantastic local causes and the Armed Forces.

“This was a big priority for us in our second season as we continue to work towards a long-term vision for the club on and off the ice and I am proud to have taken this massive step with Ascot Lawyers”.
