Reading Racers head into the penultimate match of their 2018 season this Saturday at Eastbourne against the Isle of Wight Wizards.

It's the last match of the season for the islanders, who will finish 4th in the league regardless of the result.

Reading, however, will pull level with Exeter in second place if they win, with a match still to go as they attempt to finish just two points behind winners Kent.

Reading will be without captain Stephen Whitehouse who is recovering from facial, rib, abdomen, spleen and leg injuries sustained, ironically on the Isle of Wight earlier this month.

It means Reading have little choice in selecting their line up with only four squad members available and will for one of the rare occasions this year, track both of their top two in Nick Laurence and Dan Gilkes.

Jamie Bursill and Rhys Laker both return to the side after missing the victory over Kent at the beginning of September.

The Wizards bring the experienced Berkshire born Jamie Sealey, backed by the capable Chris Watts. They are joined by rookies Morgan Williams and James Luckman.

The match will follow the NL match between Eastbourne and favourites for the league title Mildenhall Tigers.

Saturday's teams:

Reading Racers: 1. Dan Gilkes 2. Rhys Laker 3. Nick Laurence (c) 4. Jamie Bursill.

Isle of Wight Wizards: 1. Jamie Sealey (c) 2. Morgan Williams 3. James Luckman 4. Chris Watts.
