WOKINGHAM bowler Sylvia Pearce beat Nicola Jones 15-5 in the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association 2-Wood Singles final.

Both Pearce and Jones will now represent Berkshire at Leamington in the English Championships next Tuesday.

Wokingham A finished their Kennet League Division One East season by defeating rivals Suttons 84-82 to secure the runners-up spot behind winners Reading.

Wokingham A finished their Kennet LV League Division One Central East campaign with a disappointing 51-46 defeat to Great Hollands.

Wokingham B beat Twyford 49-32. The top triple for Wokingham was skipped by Bob Thompson along with Terry Oakes and Mike Drinkwater who won their match 18-10.

Wokingham C finished their season in style in Division Three by hammering Maiden Erlegh C 74-35.

In Division One of the Thames Valley Ladies League, Wokingham Acorns defeated Tilehurst Blue 58-47. Top triple was skipped by Sandra Thompson along with Elaine Herbert and Jill Thorne who won 23-15.

In Division Three, Wokingham Oakapples beat Suttons Gems 48-37.

Wokingham ladies edged out Woodley 55-54 in an exciting friendly, with the top triple skipped by Jill Thorne along with Sue Thomson and Pam Parberry.

The ladies went on to earn a second win of the week then defeating Twyford 44-41. Jenni MacGregor along with Joy Deeves and Gen Hughes were the top triple winning by three shots.

In a mixed friendly, Wokingham battered Trentham 103-56. Top triple was skipped by Paul Dollery along with Alan Taylor and Gen Hughes, who won by 16 shots.

  • GREAT Hollands finished their Kennet League Division Two East campaign with a flourish as they battered Sunningdale 117-55 (14-0 on points).

In Division Two Central East of the Kennet LV League, Great Hollands B lost 55-42 (10-0) to Woodley A.

Great Hollands C ended as runners-up in Division Three after finishing with a 62-36 (10-0) victory against Suttons B.

Colin Staunton-Lambert, Paul Damiano and Les Dykes had the highest winning rink 22-10.

Roger Entwistle, Stan Nicholson and Norman Bullock won 23-19 and Henry Bone, Stewart McMoneagle and Paul Chapman squeezed to a 15-14 success.

In the Thames Valley Ladies League, the Wrens lost 75-33 (10-0) to Burghfield.

  • SUNNINGDALE finished third in the Kennet LV League Division One East table after ending their season with a 71-31 (10-0) victory against Desborough.

The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was made up of Archie Clifton, Bob Montgomery and skip George Edwards.

In Division Two, Sunningdale B beat Windsor & Eton C 70-45 (82) to finish the season in fourth.

The rink skipped by John Turner and including John Boyer and Dale Spencer was the most successful.

Marian Jones, Alan Isted and skip Ray Callaghan had the best rink in a four-shot defeat to Chertsey in a mixed friendly, but Sunningdale beat Burnham by two shots in another.

The best rink for Sunningdale was Les Green, Ray Callaghan and Pam Kiddell (skip).
