WOKINGHAM 2nds remain rooted to the foot of the Division 2b table after they lost by four wickets at Wargrave, writes Richard Ashton.

Martin Smith (4-10) and Mark Firth (3-34) did the bulk of the damage as the Oaks were bowled out for 129, and despite Jarrett Bobb’s 3-43, Wargrave were able to reach their target in 34.3 overs.Wokingham 2nds host Aldershot this coming Saturday.

Hurst are just one place off the bottom after they lost by five wickets at home to table-topping High Wycombe 2nds.

Phil Higgs (47) and Sam Hawkes (40) helped Hurst reach 161, but that was not enough as Gavin Baker’s 91 ushered the visitors to victory.

Hurst travel to Thatcham Town on Saturday.

Will Ellison struck 47 for Royal Ascot (181), but they lost a thriller to Beaconsfield (182-8) by two wickets.

Kevin May (3-29) was the pick of the attack for Ascot, who do not have a game this week.

Eversley stayed third in the Division 2a table after recording a fourth straight win with a 97-run success at Kew.

Andrew Niblett (70) starred as the Boars were bowled out for 213, but a fine spell from Tom Nichols (5-30) ensured they dismissed the hosts for just 116.

Eversley host Kidmore End this coming Saturday.

In Division 3a, Finchampstead 3rds (206-7) had the better of their draw with Falkland 2nds (174-9).

Sam Jenkins top scored with 49 for Finches before Parth Patel took 3-20.

Tom Andrews (6-43) and Duncan Wessels (4-50) were the destroyers-in-chief for runaway Division 4a leaders Binfield (121-6) as they beat Boyne Hill 2nds (119) by four wickets.

Binfield visit Royal Ascot 2nds this Saturday.

A magnificent 127 not out by Gareth Baker guided Royal Ascot 2nds (203-4) to a six-wicket success at Theale & Tilehurst (202).

Division 5b table-toppers Wokingham 3rds earned a three-wicket win in a low-scoring clash at Purley on Thames 2nds.

David Carpenter (6-37) impressed with the ball as the hosts were knocked over for 138, and Craig Beales then scored 59 to help his side over the line.

Third-placed Bracknell (124-2) are still well in the promotion hunt after easing past Sonning 2nds (122) by eight wickets.

Peter Henly (3-17), Akmal Sultan (3-25) and Majid Sheirf (3-35) all bowled well for the visitors before Taz Shah made an unbeaten 74 to rocket his side to victory in just 15 overs.

Bracknell host Purley on Thames 2nds next Saturday.

Joe Tucker (62), James Berger-North (46) and Sam Glaze (43) were all among the runs, but Eversley 2nds (219) lost to Wargrave 2nds (220-9) by one wicket in a classic.

Berger-North (3-20) and Roni Rezaul (3-58) impressed for the Boars, but useful knocks from JJ Harris (72) and Matt Townson (44) led Wargrave to victory with just four balls remaining.

Kamal Gupta (6-25) and Scott Butler (3-19) inspired second-placed Binfield 2nds (89-0) to an emphatic 10-wicket destruction of Aldershot 3rds (88) in Division 6b, Richard Higginson making an unbeaten 50 in the chase.

Hurst 2nds (80) lost to Bradfield (83-2) by eight wickets, while Andy Webb’s unbeaten 54 ensured Finchampstead 4ths (125-1) crushed Burnham 4ths (122) by nine wickets.

In Division 7a, Royal Ascot 3rds (116) were beaten by four wickets at home to White Waltham 2nds (117-6), while a stunning 125 not out from Craig Rintoul led Wokingham 4ths to an eight-wicket triumph against visitors Eversley 3rds.

Gerard Soames made 62 as the Boars totalled 214-7 in their 52 overs, but that never looked enough after openers James Stevens (59) and Rintoul got to work.

Bracknell 2nds (108-2) climbed to third in the Division 8a standings following a convincing eight-wicket success against Datchet 4ths (106).

Royal Ascot 4ths (114-6 from 35 overs) had their game against Thatcham Town 3rds (264-6 from 40) abandoned due to rain.

Rohan Rohan struck 68 not out to lead Wokingham 5ths (123-0) to a comprehensive 10-wicket win at Eversley 4ths (120) in Division 9a, while Phil West’s brilliant 96 inspired Finchampstead 5ths (202-4) to a six-wicket success against Reading 4ths (201-9).
