SUNNINGDALE came off second best against Wokingham in a friendly fixture.

The clubs usually play for the Manley Cup, but it was changed to a friendly instead when the first leg was cancelled.

Wokingham won the game by 20 shots, though Sunningdale had a winning rink of Allan Coles, Mike Thompson and Don Allston (skip).

In the Kennet League, Sunningdale were beaten at Windsor & Eton where the home team won on all rinks and took all 14 points on offer.

In the LV Division, Sunningdale B also lost at Windsor & Eton B who claimed all 10 points.

Sunningdale A lost 58-37 at Maidenhead Town A for an 8-2 points victory.

Sunningdale’s winning rink was Alf Chell, Brian Munden and Brian Webb (skip).

Sunningdale lost 68-60 at Maiden Erleigh in the Thames Valley Ladies League and a 6-4 defeat on points.

Highest scoring rink for Sunningdale was Janet Spencer, Sheila Sparks and Marjorie Walklett (skip).

Great Hollands win at Reading

IN the Thames Valley Ladies League, Great Hollands Linnets beat Reading 54-45 for a 7-3 points win.

The Wrens suffering a heavy 55-28 defeat to Desborough Bluebells who took all 10 points.

The Kennet League team defeated Desborough B 92-84 for a 10-4 points win.

The KLV A team lost 68-48 to Palmer Park and 9-1 on points, while the KLV B team won 62-51 against Reading B for a 10-0 points win.

The KLV C team beat Wokingham D 60-44 for an 8-2 points win. John Fudge, Paul Damiano and Paul Chapman had the best winning rink by 24-11.

Norman Bullock, Les Dykes and Neil Lofthouse won 23-17 while Roger Entwistle, Stan Nicholson and Derek Tickner lost 16-13.
