BRACKNELL moved up to fourth in the Division 5b table as they romped to a convincing 89-run victory at home to Wargrave 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.

Opener Mohammad Shabbir (48) led the way as the home side were bowled out for 190, Charlie Moss, Hareesh Reedy and Martin Smith remarkably all taking 3-31.

Wargrave never got going as they attempted to chase the score down, with Junaid Ashiq (4-19) and Majid Sherif (3-18) doing the bulk of the damage as they were bowled out for 101.

Bracknell visit Aldershot 2nds this Saturday.

Hurst remain bottom of Division 2b after they were hammered by seven wickets at Wargrave.

No batsman really got going for the visitors as Connor White and Tim Everitt – batting at nine and 10 – top scored with 23 in their sub-par total of 143.

Wargrave captain Neal Robinson (4-41) and Mandip Sohi (3-21) were the pick of the hosts’ attack. In reply, Sohi (34) and Luke Taylor (58) set the game up with a fine opening stand, and Wargrave reached 147-3 in 33.4 overs.

Hurst are at home to Aldershot on Saturday.

Royal Ascot stayed sixth after they had the better of a draw at Aldershot.

Andy Murray (57), Nick Sweetman (46) and Jeremy Hare (44) were all among the runs as Ascot were bowled out for 233, but their bowlers produced a fine display to restrict the home side to 202-8, Rory Collins top scoring with 80.

Royal Ascot are at home to Thatcham Town this Saturday.

Binfield strengthened their grip on top spot in Division 4a with a comfortable eight-wicket success at home to Henley 3rds.

Duncan Wessels (3-22), Matt Hayman (3-22) and Rupert Warren (3-51) all bowled well as Henley were dismissed for 127, and skipper Mike Staves (58 from 52 balls) and Steve Carson (40) then put on 87 for the opening wicket before Binfield reached their target in 22.2 overs.

Binfield visit Newbury this Saturday.

Royal Ascot 2nds were beaten by 76 runs at home to Bagshot 2nds.

Elliot Coggins (3-57) impressed with the ball for Ascot as they kept the visitors to 246-8, but despite Gary Clarke’s 79, they were bowled out for 170 in reply.

Binfield 2nds leapfrogged Hurst 2nds into second place in the Division 6b standings following a dominant 112-run victory.

Tom Nower made a brilliant 97 as Binfield were bowled out for 228, the experienced Ian Harvey the chief destroyer with figures of 5-36.

Hurst’s reply never got going as they were dismissed for 116, Steve Morris top scoring with 43 as Joe Sculley (3-27) shone with the ball.

Royal Ascot 3rds slipped to third-bottom in Division 7a after they were beaten by seven wickets at Sulhamstead 2nds.

The home side were bowled out for 136, and Dan Langford’s unbeaten 76 helped Sully reach their target in 27 overs.

In Division 8a, Bracknell 2nds (173) lost to Wargrave 3rds (228-5) by 55 runs.

Royal Ascot 4ths were annihilated by 160 runs at home to Bagshot 3rds.

Matt Funnell (137no), captain Richard Rowlett (59) and Paul Broome (51no) all helped themselves to a minimum of a half century as the visitors racked up a huge 277-1 in their 40 overs, and with Naeem Mohammed’s 28 proving to be the top Ascot score, they were bowled out for just 117 in reply.
