BRACKNELL Town are expecting all of last season's squad will stay with the club, but will be looking to strengthen it as they prepare for life in the Isthmian League, writes Dave Wright.

Club secretary Ricky Simons confirmed: "As you would expect, there have been a lot of conversations with the players and they all seem happy. None indicated they are planning to leave.

"The management are looking to strengthen the team, but that is expected when you move up to Step 4 football."

This, however, could mean them having a surplus of players – and this may see some being offered to Hellenic and Combined Counties League sides on a dual registration.

Players unable to command a regular game or coming back from injury no longer have the opportunity to play for the reserves, as the Robins have withdrawn from the Suburban League.

Instead, the club are planning to field Under 18 teams on a Saturday and in midweek, giving more opportunities to talented youngsters in the town.

Town are eagerly looking forward to July 14 when the Isthmian League will release their fixtures list.

There is already one change to the proposed constitution announced last month with Fleet Town being transferred to Southern League South West.

Their place will be taken by FC Romania, who finished in third place in the Essex Senior League for the third season in succession.

Formed only in 2006, they ground share with Cheshunt, another Isthmian League club.

Bracknell have received a number of compliments following their staging of four matches in the CONIFA World Cup.

Simons commented: "The Saturday games attracted better attendances than the two played on a Tuesday, but there was a good atmosphere every time.

"Their fans were very colourful and appeared to enjoy their visit to our club. Tibet even turned their game into a cultural festival. It was a fun day."

Town commence their pre-season friendlies by hosting National League South side Wealdstone on Saturday, June 30.
