READING FC have confirmed they will spend their pre-season tour in Austria.

Boss Paul Clement will take a squad of first-team players to Austria on Sunday, July 15 for a week-long training camp.

Royals will fly to Vienna before basing themselves an hour away in Bad Erlach in the Wiener Neustadt-Land district.

There, they will play two friendlies behind-closed-doors against opposition yet to be confirmed.

One of the games is likely to take place on the evening of Wednesday, July 18 before the squad fly back to the UK the following Saturday.

Royals have so far announced two first-team friendlies in the build up to the 2018/19 Championship campaign.

They start with a trip to non-league Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on Saturday, June 30 (3pm ko).

Then a week later they go to League One outfit AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, July 7 (3pm).

Reading Under 23s

READING FC Under 23s will play five pre-season friendlies in the build-up to the 2018-19 campaign.

Three fixtures against Wealdstone, Cheltenham Town and Swansea City take place behind-closed-doors at the club’s Hogwood Park training ground.

The other two games see Scott Marshall’s men travel to Bath City and make the short trip to newly-promoted Slough Town.

Royals U23s narrowly missed out on promotion to the top tier last season when they were beaten 4-3 by Aston Villa in the Premier League 2 Division Two play-off semi final.

However, six players from the squad made their first-team debuts, while Marshall also promoted several members of the U18s squad.
