WOKINGHAM are through to the next round of the County Mixed Double Fours after a 40-28 victory against Island Bohemian.

It was a tight match with John Scowen's rink winning by one shot. Alan Symondson's rink had a real tussle before pulling away to win on the 16th end.

Wokingham A beat the B side 96-59 in Kennet League Division One.

The A team won on all four rinks, though the match was closer than the score suggests.

Wokingham A maintained their fine start to the Kennet LV League season with a 51-41 win at Maiden Erlegh, winning all three triples.

Wokingham B defeated Palmer Park 62-34 in Division One, winning all three triples including an 18-shot victory for George Hayne, Brian Chinneck and Brian Hoare.

Wokingham C won 51-48 at Woodley B in Division Three.

Wokingham Acorns won 61-34 at home to Suttons in Thames Valley Ladies League Division One. The Acorns won convincingly on two triples and drew on the other.

Wokingham Oakapples won their Division Three match at Pangbourne 41-20. Pangbourne could only field two triples. Top triple for Wokingham was Jean Balkwell, Margaret Argent and Margaret Allen, winning 22-11.

The other Wokingham triple was skipped by Cyndy Price-Finnie, winning 19-9.

Great Hollands

In the Thames Valley Ladies League, the Linnets beat Tilehurst Blue 53-48 for an 8-2 points win.

The Wrens won 56-45 against Sunningdale for an 8-2 points win.

The Kennet League team lost 87-57 to Caversham A for an 11-3 points defeat.

The KLV A team lost 45-49 against Bracknell A for an 8-2 points defeat.

The C team won 66-43 against Maiden Erlegh C for an 8-2 points win. Roger Entwistle, George Auret and Paul Damiano had the best winning rink by 28-7.

Henry Bone. Derek Tickner and John Fudge won their rink 27-12, while Neil Lofthouse, Les Dykes and Norman Bullock lost 24-11.

Sunningdale

Sunningdale defeated Farnborough 94-62 in a home friendly.

Joint highest-scoring rinks for Sunningdale were Llew Jones, Les Green and Pam Kiddell (skip) plus Margaret Ward, David Dean and Ray Callaghan (skip).

The Ladies played a friendly away at Windsor Great Park losing to the home team by 50 – 61 shots. Winning rink for Sunningdale: Sheila Sparks, Jill Callaghan, Kathy Edwards(skip).

Sunningdale lost 80-69 at Three Mile Cross in the Kennet League in a 12-2 points defeat.

In the LV division, Sunningdale A lost 54.5-49 at home to Maidenhead Thicket A, taking two points to Thicket’s 12.

The winning rink for Sunningdale A was Peter Sparks, Brian Munden and Brian Webb (skip).

Sunningdale B lost 61-52 at Maidenhead Town C for an 8-2 points defeat. Winning rink for Sunningdale B was John Boyer, Dale Spencer and Dennis Bailey (skip).
