BRACKNELL Town will be “tweaking” and adding to their coaching staff as they prepare for life in the South Central Division of the Isthmian League, writes Dave Wright.

Following their promotion from the Hellenic League up to Step 4, the Robins have no intention of resting on their laurels and will be strengthening their team on and off the field.

Chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse commented: “We are really excited to have been placed in the Bostik South Central League as this will see us play far more locally next season.”

Instead of treks down the M4 to Gloucestershire, Town will head more in the direction of London and the M25 with trips to Hertfordshire, Surrey, Essex, Middlesex and Buckinghamshire, pending confirmation at next month’s FA AGM.

The shorter trips take in Marlow, Chalfont St Peter, Ashford, Egham, Bedfont, Hanwell, Uxbridge, Northwood, Fleet and Hayes & Yeading.

Cheshunt, Hertford and Ware are the Hertfordshire destinations, while Chipstead, Molesey, South Park, Tooting & Mitcham, Westfield and Essex side Waltham Abbey complete the 20-club division.

Steinborn-Busse revealed he will confirm his management team in the next few weeks, saying: “We won’t be making any wholesale changes, but we will be tweaking the structure and adding some additional people.”

New appointments could include a head of football.

In the meantime, Robins have announced their first list of pre-season friendlies, starting with Southern League South Division newcomers Harrow Borough at home on Saturday, July 5.

A week later, Camberley visit Larges Lane, followed by Banbury United on July 21. They will host Windsor on Tuesday July 24 before visiting Binfield a week later.

In the meantime, Steinborn-Busse has given an update regarding the proposed Ranelagh Education and Sporting Hub project.

He admitted: “We had hoped to have had a response by now from the council, but it is a very detailed complex process and is taking time.

“We have had tremendous support from parents of students at the school and within our club, however like many planning applications, it has been met with reservations by some people which I believe is due to them being misinformed.

“I can assure local residents we remain committed to providing world-class facilities in the town and we are hopeful of delivering the education and sporting hub within the next 12 to 18 months subject to planning.”
