A COMBINED Bracknell Athletic/Reading Under 13 girls side showed considerable promise when they played in their first futsal tournament at Bracknell Leisure Centre last weekend.

They were beaten 3-0 by Burnham Juniors in their opening fixture, but hit back to record back-to-back 0-0 draws against Aldermaston Reds and Winnersh Diamonds Whites.

The girls finished off with a hard-fought 2-0 loss to Tilehurst Panthers Blacks, but they emerged with credit from their debut outing with Liv Sloan named player-of-the-tournament for Athletic.

  • BEN Kendell and Tom Roberts were both on the scoresheet to help fire Ascot United Under 15 Youth to a 3-2 victory against Ashford Town.

Ascot also benefitted from an own goal.

TheU18 Yankees battled to a 4-3 victory in a seven-goal thriller against Ash United, but the U16 Youth were well beaten 4-0 by Kingstonian Eagles.

Ethan Best, Luke Hay and Samm Daniel were all on the scoresheet as Ascot United U14 Youth edged past Claygate Royals Swans 3-2, while an Alex Mack brace and an Oscar Pritchard strike were enough to help the U13 Youth past Leatherhead Juniors 3-0.

Ascot United Development squeezed past Eversley & California 2-1, but there was a 6-4 reverse for the U12 Chargers in their game against FC Holyport Cobras.
