A FIRST-HALF hat-trick from Kai Evans helped Wokingham & Emmbrook FC Oranges overcome rivals Ashridge Park Royals 3-2 in their East Berkshire Football Alliance U15s Division Four match.

Oranges started last Saturday's clash one place off bottom of the table, while Royals were one place off the top.

But it was the young Sumas who clinched all three points and the bragging rights after a hard-fought victory at Cantley Park.

Evans, operating wide on the right, put Wokingham in front when his dipping cross-shot was fumbled over the line by the Ashridge keeper.

Oranges doubled their lead midway through the first half when a superb diagonal pass from Ollie Vickers found Evans, who slammed a fierce shot into the opposite corner.

Evans then notched his third of the game shortly before the interval with a superb solo goal.

Ashridge Park were fired up for the second half and had pulled it back to 3-2 before the hour mark.

But Wokingham held on for the victory and named Jack Pickup, pictured above, their man of the match after a fine performance in central defence.
