HURST Cricket Club youngsters were celebrating after clinching the Berkshire Under 15s title.

The talented Hurst team defeated Hungerford by a mammoth nine wickets to win the play-off held at Falkland CC.

Batting first, Hungerford got off to a steady start until their progress was quickly checked when Abhir Joshi took two wickets in one over.

From there on Hurst’s bowlers retained the upper hand, with some sharp fielding throughout helping to restrict their opponents to 100-8 from their allocated 20 overs.

Hurst then wasted little time in their reply as Jamie Vickery and Josh Harris began peppering the boundary.

Harris went for 19, but Vickery anchored the innings superbly from there on and went on to complete an excellent half century.

Vickery finished unbeaten on 51 before he had to retire, while it was left to Aryan Joshi (18no) and Harry Williams to blast Hurst over the winning line with six over to spare and for the loss of just one wicket.
