It was tight across all four rinks, both teams claiming two wins each. The highest scoring rink for Wokingham was skipped by Neil Jones along with Adie Chipper, Len Cooke and Martin Brailey.

Wokingham B Men lost 89-69 at Maidenhead Thicket in Division Two. Highest up rink was skipped by Colin Cleverly along with Ian Buchanan, Bob Boswell and Barry Wooly, winning by seven shots.

In the Kennet Over 55s League, Wokingham A defeated Suttons A 47-41. For the second week running, Bob Thompson’s rink of Colin Livingstone and Martin Brailey led the way with an 11-shot win.

Wokingham Oakapples won 33-20 at Suttons Gems in Thames Valley Ladies League Division 3. The match was stopped after 10 ends but the score stood. Wokingham’s top triple was skipped by Jean Balkwell along with Jenni Macgregor and Dora James, winning by nine shots.

  • SUNNINGDALE Bowling Club Ladies won 50-41 against Windsor Great Park. Highest scoring rink was Sheila Sparks, Janet Spencer and Gill Dickson (skip).

Sunningdale lost 40-12 at Palmer Park in Thames Valleys Ladies League while Sunningdale Men were heavily beaten 108-54 by Windsor & Eton in the Kennet League, taking 12 points to the host’s two. Winning rink for Sunningdale included Les Green, Mike Thompson, George Edwards and skip Derek Cooper(skip).

In Kennet League LV Division, Sunningdale A triumphed 44-42 at Desborough B to win 8-2 on points. The highest scoring rink for Sunningdale included Archie Clifton, Peter Sparks and skip Brian Munden.

  • GREAT Hollands Wrens won 10-0 on points against Three Mile Cross in the Thames Valley Leadies League.

The team of Sheila Ledbury, Angie Sherfield, Rose Reason, Carolyn Lofthouse, Irene Bradley, Sheila Strickland, Bridget Cruickshamk, Myrtle McMoneagle and Mary Thomas were outstanding in the wet conditions.

Great Hollands Men thrashed Reading B 110-51.75 in the Kennet League for a 14-0 points victory.
