PINEWOOD Gymnastic Club’s artistic duo Sonia Runcianu and Emily Croll rose to the challenge at the British National Grades Finals in Stoke recently.

Competing at Level 4, Sonia was part of the South Region team after qualifying in second place, while Emily competed as an individual after attaining the qualification score with the Wokingham-based club.

Emily went on to finish seventh on range and conditioning before some eye-catching routines on vault, floor, bars and beam to finish 14th overall in the country.

Sonia also had an outstanding day with the South Region team after finishing third on vault, fourth on floor and fourth on range and conditioning to secure a silver medal.

To complete a memorable day for Sonia, her team also won the overall gold.

They suffered only two league defeats.
