DOMINC Samuel has finally secured his first Championship start for Reading FC.
Jaap Stam picked the promising frontman in his team sheet against Burton Albion FC, answering fans' calls.
Supporters have voiced their support for Samuel, 22, in recent weeks, and called for him to be drafted into the first team.
Kermorgant has been Stam's go-to man to lead the line for the Royals so far this campaign, but after it was understood the Frenchman sustained an injury in training, Samuel was given the nod.
Kermorgant, 34, recently revealed to the Chronicle that Samuel was pushing him for a spot in the first XI, and said he has high hopes for the 22-year-old's career.
Samuel's Royals' career to date has been hampered by niggling injuries and loan spells to lower divisions, but today the academy graduate will have a chance to prove he can cut first-team football.
