EXETER City are staging a memorial match this Sunday in honour of former Reading FC Academy Director Eamonn Dolan.

Dolan lost his battle with cancer in June at the age of 48.

More than 30 Academy players who passed through his hands went on to represent the Royals first team.

Before his move to Madejski Stadium, the ex-West Ham midfielder had been in charge of Exeter City between 2002-04 and he remains a huge fans’ favourite at St James’s Park where this weekend’s memorial match will take place.

The game will see two Exeter City XIs made up of players Dolan played with, managed or brought through their youth system battle it out.

All money raised will be given to two charities – Action Bladder Cancer UK and the Exeter City Academy.

Reading made a permanent tribute to Dolan recently by re-naming the Madejski Stadium north stand The Eamonn Dolan Stand.

Royals still have two fixtures to go this season, away to Chelsea on October 30 and home to Doncaster on November 6.
