LONDON Irish recorded their fourth successive Greene King IPA Championship win with a 32-12 bonus-point victory over Ealing Trailfinders.

Sunday's comfortable success extended Irish's 100% start to the campaign and cemented their position at the top of the table.

A healthy crowd of 3,357 watched Nick Kennedy's Exiles swipe aside another rival club in their bid to return to the Aviva Premiership at the first time of asking.

Two tries in either half from Ben Ransom, Joe Trayfoot, James Marshall and Scott Steele made it four wins out of four for Irish, who now gear-up for Friday’s trip to Nottingham Rugby (7.45pm ko).

Kennedy's men did not have it all their own way against a Trailfinders side buoyed by an excellent win against well-fancied Jersey Reds in their previous outing.

The hosts were quick off the mark and notched their first try in the second minute when Ransom took Fergus Mulchrone’s neat offload to squeeze in at the corner, with Tommy Bell converting from the touchline for a 7-0 lead.

Bell then kicked a penalty to put Irish further ahead, but Ealing hit back with a try of their own when player/coach Ben Ward turned down three points and kicked for touch. Trailfinders won clean lineout ball and No.8 Willie Ryan crashed over from close range.

Ward also landed an excellent conversion to cut Irish's lead to 10-7.

Bell slotted another penalty to nudge them further in front, then Trayfoot dotted down on the stroke of half time following excellent work from Richard Palframan and the impressive Max Northcote Green in the build-up.

Bell missed the conversion, but Exiled were 18-7 up at the break.

The home side then began to pull away in the second half thanks to a Marshall try on the New Zealander's his home debut after Topsy Ojo had put him away, with Bell's conversion making it 25-7.

But Bell was yellow-carded in the 67th minute for a professional foul at the breakdown, leaving Irish with 14 men.

Ealing almost replied immediately, but wing Phil Chesters knocked on over the try-line.

It proved a costly error as Irish regrouped and bagged a bonus point when scrum-half Steele darted over following a series of powerful drives. Marshall took over kicking duties and slotted the conversion.

Ealing had the final say from the last play of the match when hooker Matt Cornish barrelled over in the corner.

But Exiles were worthy winners on the day and will be looking for a fifth straight win when they go to Nottingham.
